“Malibu Pier is a Southern California icon in an area once called the Riviera of America,” says State Parks’ Director Ruth Coleman. The historic landmark is located in the heart of California’s surf culture. Surfers from around the world come to Surfrider Beach adjacent to Malibu Pier, known for its three-point break that offers rides of 300 yards or more. The festive seaside atmosphere of good food and fun is returning to the famous pier. New restaurants offering classic seaside dishes complement the pier’s beautiful coastal location and rich history.

Attractions at the Malibu Pier:

Deep Sea Fishing – Sport fishing boat trips depart from the Malibu Pier twice a day. A short boat ride from the pier takes visitors to some of the best fishing grounds for sea bass, halibut and rockfish. You can also enjoy a leisurely day fishing off the Malibu Pier itself. Learn about Malibu Pier Sportfishing.

Malibu Pier Club and the Beachcomber Cafe – The Malibu Pier Club is a classic seaside bar providing casual dining and a tiki bar “Tonga Lei Room.” The Beachcomber Cafe is a 1940’s style American dinner house that offers a vintage Malibu dining atmosphere, menus filled with eclectic coastal dishes and fantastic views of the surf. Go to the Beachcomber Cafe website.

Coastal Harbor Tours – Malibu’s more than 29 miles of glamorous coastline offers the perfect backdrop for a boat tour with family and friends.

Beach Equipment Rentals – Zuma Jay’s at the Malibu Pier opening 2009, renting surfboards, boogie boards, kayaks and other beach equipment.

Ruby’s Shake Shack – Old fashioned shakes, burgers and fries. Ruby’s Shake Shack will be located in one of the classic historical 1940’s buildings at the ocean end of the pier.

Surf Museum – Plans are underway for a museum to display vintage surf memorabilia. The history of the surf culture in Malibu will be portrayed in artful exhibits. All within a view of Surfrider Beach.

There’s a memory in every visit at Bob Morris’ Paradise Cove Beach Café in Malibu, California near Los Angeles. It’s the only restaurant in Malibu right on the sand with its own private beach & cove. It’s Malibu’s Paradise!

Next time you’re trying to think of where to bring your family, date or loved one for dinner– consider Paradise Cove. Kids love the beach, the people, the food and the giant mile high chocolate cakes! Dates love the romantic private cove & ocean views, jazz nights and delicious seafood. Impress them with the best lobster dinner in town.

Not a dinner person? Come for breakfast, brunch, lunch or just to hang out and relax with a drink. Our breakfast menus include items such as belgian waffles, pancakes, carrot cake waffles, breakfast burritos, french toast and double cheese egg omelettes. If breakfast isn’t your thing, come try our lunch. We have lots of sandwiches to choose from, a salad bar and the best appetizers in town including our best seller, Calamari.

Star struck? Well Paradise Cove is the where lots of movies, TV shows and television commercials have been filmed. Just this June, Paris Hilton was filming her music video here. Also this June Hummer shot it’s latest ad with a brand new Hummer zooming full speed down our very own pier until it went off and hit the water. Over the years we’ve also been the featured film location for The OC, Baywatch, The Rockford Files, Gidget, Sponge Bob Square Pants movie, American Pie 2, Alias, Charlie’s Angeles & more.
